Invitation of the Head of the Federal Industry Agency
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am honoured to invite you on behalf of the Russian Federal Industry Agency to the second International Maritime Defence Show "IMDS-2005" that will take place in St.Petersburg during June 29 to July 3, 2005. The IMDS event is organised under the aegis of the Russian Federation Government and will demonstrate the latest achievements in naval platforms, armaments and technologies based on newest developments of the major Russian and international companies. A unique feature of this Show is that it offers an integrated coverage of all naval ship and armament aspects (R&D, design, production, testing, operation, upgrading).
Modern combat ships will be moored along the quays at exhibition grounds in the Harbour of St.Petersburg whereas halls and open-air displays of the exhibition complex will demonstrate state-of-the-art naval hardware, hull systems, auxiliary machinery and components. Official delegates and guests of the Show will be offered tours to world-famous defence enterprises to see the process of weapon development. Another important part of the IMDS programme anticipates live platform and weapon demonstrations. There will be gun-firing exercises at an artillery test range, naval aviation flights, demonstrations of speed and manoeuvring performances of fighting boats and many other events.
The IMDS slogan is Through Co-operation – to Peace & Progress, and it states one of the primary missions of the Show: facilitating business contacts between Russian defence industries and their foreign colleagues and establishing international co-operation in armament and materiel manufacturing, including for exporting to other Navies.
Attending the St.Petersburg International Maritime Defence Show will enable you to fully assess present trends of the world naval market, to familiarize with the capabilities of the Russian defence industries, to establish valuable business contacts and to participate in a naval festival in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
