Rigid diving systems HARDSUIT (rigid survival suits) are intended for performance of various kinds of underwater technical works. The HARDSUIT™ is a mature and reliable design, with over 40 systems delivered since 1986. The HARDSUIT™ system has been used extensively in commercial applications in the Gulf of Mexico, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Canada and the United Kingdom. The HARDSUIT™ line of Atmospheric Diving Systems (ADS) provides: • the ability to dive at depths of up to 2,000 feet without the physical risks of decompression • improved safety as the pilot remains at one atmosphere instead of being subjected to the high water pressures that create immense physiological stress for divers in deep water • smaller crew sizes • reduced training requirements • unlimited vertical excursions • system portability • lower capital equipment costs
The HARDSUIT™ has been used for oil-field platform structural repairs and a variety of search and recovery operations. Successful in-land applications have centered on high altitude and remote access operations in hydroelectric facilities. Some of the successful commercial ADS applications, both in-land and offshore, include:
• platform inspection • subsea completions • pipeline tie-ins & flange couplings • flow base preparations • manifold and tree installation • control umbilical connection • riser tie-in and service • manifold and tree service • control system actuation • general intervention • tunnel and intake inspections • inspection and cleaning of trash racks • construction and repair of structures and control systems • leak detection Tools and capabilities of the HARDSUIT™ include:
• still and video photography • acoustic survey • NDT including CP, UT, and flooded member detection • water and grit blasting • grinding • drilling • oxy-arc cutting • complex rigging • bolt flange connections
